Introduction to AbseilingSEP

A taste of descending from a height with full trust on the rope. An activity filled with adrenaline rush the moment your back is facing the world and hundreds feet away from ground. Participant will be equipped with safety gears, basic techniques and some tactical moves during descending from cliffs or walls.  The experience from this activity helps individual to experience and over coming alto phobia while managing emotions, understand their personal values, make responsible decisions, establish and maintain positive relationships and handle challenging situations effectively.

Innotrek programmes focuses on Experiential Learning Methodology– the coaches will facilitate the sessions to develop students with positive character building, which essential for all sportsmen. This include positive communication, positive solving, decision-making, interpersonal relationships, teamwork, as well as boosting their confidence, self awareness, self-reliance, discipline and leadership skills.

Duration: 1 session of 2 Hours

 

At the end of each session, coaches will dedicate time to facilitate these learning objectives:

  • To develop new skills, arose interest and promote active participation of a new sport.
  • To introduce Abseiling as a sport to student through exposure and participation.
  • To introduce basic techniques of proper abseiling, abseiling equipment & the safety aspects of abseiling to students.
  • To promote positive character building and boosting self-esteem
  • To create camaraderie amongst participants though exploration.
  • 
To foster safety mindset.
  • To step out of comfort zone.
  • To have fun in sports.

 

SNAS Abseiling Proficiency Course Level 1SEP

Most enthusiasts were introduced to abseiling as part of rock climbing activities and as part of adventure education programme. However, few actually participated in formal abseiling training with emphasis on personal competency and instructional training. The proficiency course aims to equip abseil enthusiast with sound technical knowledge and proactive attitude towards safety. To equip the participants with the stated skills and knowledge.

Duration: 1 session of 7 Hours

 

Participants must demonstrate the following course requirements :

  1. Correct harness usage
  2. Correct rig-in to abseil system with a Fig 8 descender
  3. Perform a controlled descend
  4. Perform a self-rescue
  5. Correct use of abseiling commands

SNAS Abseiling Proficiency Level 2SEP

The SNAS Abseiling Proficiency Course Level  2 will allow you to learn and develop the important skills and techniques required to participate in more challenging abseiling activities and adventures. If you’re into exploring canyons or caves or just want to go abseiling for the sheer fun of it, this course will help you do it! The SNAS Abseiling Proficiency Course Level  2 is without rival in technical content and instructional quality.

SNAS Abseiling Proficiency Course Level  2 is an advanced personal abseil competency course. This course teaches a progression into acquiring advance personal proficiency skills to descend and ascend on ropes, self rescue techniques and setting up a fixed abseiling system.

Innotrek programmes focuses on Experiential Learning Methodology– the coaches will facilitate the sessions to develop students with positive character building, which essential for all sportsmen. This include positive communication, positive solving, decision-making, interpersonal relationships, teamwork, as well as boosting their confidence, self awareness, self-reliance, discipline and leadership skills.

Duration: 7 Sessions of 2 Hours, Total 14 Hours

 

At the end of each session, coaches will dedicate time to facilitate these learning objectives:

  • To develop new skills, arose interest and promote active participation of a new sport.
  • To introduce Abseiling as a sport to student through exposure and participation.
  • To introduce advance personal proficiency skills to descend and ascend on ropes, abseiling equipment & the safety aspects of abseiling to students.
  • To promote positive character building and boosting self-esteem
  • To create camaraderie amongst participants though exploration.
  • 
To foster safety mindset.
  • To step out of comfort zone.
  • To have fun in sports.
  • To equip participants with skills and knowledge set by Singapore Mountaineering Federations for Abseiling Proficiency Course Level 2

Student will Learn: 

  • Able to set up a fixed abseiling system.
  • Able to perform a safe and control descend using other descending device eg (ATC, Tuber bars).
  • Able to apply proper abseiling command and perform a safe and controlled descent
  • Able to demonstrate sound prussicking skills (ascend and descend)
  • Able to perform a self rescue technique (recovery from a loaded prussick).

Prerequisite:

  • Participants will need to have a valid SNAS Abseiling Proficiency Course Level 1 certification to enroll for this course.
  • At least be 16 years of age
